NEW DOE Component Requirements
for EPA Refrigerant Regulations

The Department of Energy (DOE) now requires that outdoor unit replacements meet updated energy efficiency standards, affecting single-stage and two-stage air conditioners and heat pumps built after 2024. Because of this, Lennox will no longer build any R-410A air conditioners or heat pumps for the U.S. after Dec. 31, 2024. The decision to manufacture R-410A outdoor units for Canada is still being decided. We anticipate having more information in the coming weeks.
